Menow (1935-1964) was the American Champion tw0-Year Old Male Horse in 1937, winning several major races including the Champagne Stakes and Belmont Futurity Stakes. He won his first race of 1938, finished third in the Kentucky Derby, won the Massachusetts Handicap over 1937 Triple Crown winner War Admiral, but retired after having bowed forelegs.
    The item
came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 etc. ), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park are named.
